Single Scrim Black

A single scrim black takes about a stop off whatever it's flying in front of, which is exactly what you want when a source is close but not quite right and the DP doesn't want to move the light. It knocks the level down without changing the quality, so faces hold and the ratio just settles. Sizes run from the 4'x4' slip-on up to a 20'x20' for taming big sources and hot windows, all sewn in the USA by LA Rag House. Simple tool, does its job every time.
